AHLA members can access a variety of training resources and opportunities for their staff.

Mobile Hospitality Training

The AHLA, Olds College, and the Government of Alberta have collaborated to create a new tourism and hospitality program that will transform hospitality education in Alberta. This learning initiative allows students to access training videos from their smartphone or tablet – meaning students can learn anytime, from anywhere. 

The AHLA and the Government of Alberta each contributed $500,000 to develop the training videos with Olds College. This is an investment in tourism and hospitality that will increase the amount of skilled, educated workers in the industry.

Stay tuned for more information on when the first videos will be released.

 

 

Tourism HRemerit

As part of the Canada 150 celebrations, Tourism HR Canada is offering its Emerit online training for free to students enrolled in tourism and hospitality programs1.

The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council tourism training brand, emerit, offers AHLA members skills training, upgrading and certification opportunities. All emerit programs are based on industry-defined standards and are recognized across Canada. Through emerit’s traditional online learning, workbooks, and manuals, your employees can focus on building real skills for a wide range of tourism and hospitality professions.
