Director of Business Development
Michael joined the AHLA in 2018 to oversee membership and communications elements of the AHLA. Since then, he has moved into a business development role to grow membership and ensure current members get the most value for their membership fees through our programs and preferred vendors.
Michael has been working in the hospitality industry since he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from NAIT and a Public Relations Diploma from MacEwan University. He’s seen many sides of the industry — from helping hoteliers near the Edmonton International Airport find solutions to their unique businesses challenges, to dabbling in sports tourism with the GO Community Centre.
When he’s not visiting AHLA members, Michael can be found playing or watching almost any sport on the planet with his Goldendoodle, Louie. He recently started curling, which he had no idea would hurt so much, so he can often be seen lunging down the hallway to stretch his aching muscles. He also enjoys long walks in the river valley, keeping his home safe from invaders, sleeping, and eating… Michael and Louie have a lot in common.
