Erica Blewett
Health & Safety Advisor

eblewett@ahla.ca

Since 2009, Erica has been working with the AHLA and the AHSA (which amalgamated with the AHLA in 2020) to train employees in the hospitality industry about OHS legislation and to help them to build effective health & safety systems at their properties. She started her career in the hotel industry as a Reservations Agent at Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff, where she earned her Auditor Certification. When the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort opened in Edmonton in 2006, she helped to build their health & safety program and achieve their Certificate of Recognition.

Erica has a Bachelor of Arts from the University College of the Caribou and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. In 2019, she earned her Health & Safety Administrator designation from the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) and she is currently one course away from her OHS Certificate from the University of Alberta.

Erica’s closest friend lives in Germany so she loves to travel there as often as she can. Back in Canada, her favourite pastime seems to be banging her knees on her desk or slamming her fingers in a door so she can practise her health and safety teachings. Now that’s dedication.
