Dave Kaiser, CHA
President & CEO
Dave’s main focus is to build and lead an effective organization that provides inspiring service and grows value for its members. He oversees all operations and resources of the AHLA and AHLA Services Corporation (ASC), and focuses on senior stakeholder relations and strategy development for AHLA’s advocacy, program, and service offerings.
Prior to joining the AHLA in his current role, Dave served on the AHLA’s Board of Directors for seven years, including two years as Chair. He has 23 years of hotel operations experience, including 17 years as the General Manager of the Best Western Denham Inn & Suites in Leduc. Dave recently stepped off the Board of the Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) after 17 years of service, but represents the AHLA on HAC’s new Executive Leadership Council.
Dave graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He later earned his Certified Hotel Administrator designation from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
After a long day of talking to government officials or working on strategy, Dave retreats to his tennis court to relax. He may be a shrewd businessman, but on busy days, this former President of the Canadian Llama & Alpaca Association sometimes misses the simplicity of Llama Whispering.
