To align with anticipated changes to public health orders, the Government of Alberta is ending its program that requires Albertans with COVID-19 to quarantine or isolate in hotels.

Regarding Quarantine Requirements: At the end of July, Alberta Health Services will stop referring people to hotels to quarantine and the $625 financial incentive payments will cease.

Regarding Isolation Requirements: Two weeks after 65% of eligible Albertans have received their second COVID vaccine — which government officials anticipate will happen this week — Alberta Health Services will stop referring people to the hotels for isolation. This is subject to the approval of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and is based on the latest public health data.

The government thanks hotels who participated in this program, as they have made a lasting impact on the safety of Albertans over the last 15 months. If your property was contracted by the government to provide these services to Albertans referred by Alberta Health Services, please provide your billing paperwork to the government as soon as possible to ensure a prompt payment.
