Provide students with meaningful work experience and prepare them for careers in the hospitality industry.
Alberta employers can now apply for Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP) funding to hire students for summer 2017. Eligible employers may receive a $7-per-hour wage subsidy to provide students with work experience from May to August. The program is available to:
- small businesses
- non-profit organizations
- public libraries
- school boards
- publicly funded post-secondary institutions
- municipalities
- First Nations and Métis settlements.
The deadline to apply for STEP funding is February 24, 2017.
