Electrical Energy Procurement –Alberta's deregulated energy markets have exposed our members to tremendous opportunities and tremendous risks. The primary objective of the AHLA's energy programs is to stabilize pricing during a time of volatility and market change. Contracting for electrical energy through the AHLA gives your business stable pricing over the entire period of the contract, helping you to budget and manage cash flow and protecting your business from the volatility of the commodity market.

Energy Efficiency Programs- Through our partnership with EPCOR's EnVest Energy Efficiency Program, the AHLA is able to help our members to manage their properties'energy consumption and costs.

Insurance-On December 1, 2005, the AHLA launched an innovative"Protected Self-Insurance"Program for hotels, motels, inns, and campgrounds. The program, managed by HED Insurance and Risk Services provides member properties with long term rate stability, the"right" level of coverage, and immediate premium savings.

Natural Gas Procurement At the request of our members, the AHLA has entered into an innovative partnership for contract pricing of natural gas. By combining the natural gas requirements of our members, we can achieve better pricing than any one member could achieve by signing an individual contract directly with a natural gas retailer. The AHLA's program enables our members to procure their natural gas requirements at near market prices.

Group Health Benefits–Because every property is different, HED Insurance and Risk Services will provide customized quotations for members through the TotalGUARD employee benefits program. AHLA members now have many different coverage options to choose from allowing greater flexibility and the"right"level of coverage.

In today’s competitive job market, having a dependable and affordable employee benefits program is critical to attracting and retaining employees. TotalGUARD will provide AHLA member properties with 10+ employees an immediate 10% savings off existing premiums for equivalent coverage. AHLA Member properties with less then 10 employees will receive an immediate 5% savings for equivalent coverage.
