Alberta Hotel Safety Association (AHSA)
AHSA's goal is to reduce workplace injuries and claims by increasing awareness and responsibility of health and safety within the hospitality industry. AHSA works closely with the Workers’ Compensation Board and Alberta Employment & Immigration to promote and administer the Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) program.
On average, hotels in the PIR program have:
- Fewer claims,
- Lower claims costs, and
- Lower premiums.
Employees benefit from fewer injuries and improved health and safety in the workplace. This can increase your property’s experience rating and result in premium adjustments and rebates from WCB. Properties who meet the standard receive a Certificate of Recognition from Alberta Employment & Immigration.
AHSA offers programs to help build effective health and safety management systems. Visit www.albertahotelsafety.com or contact the AHSA office at 1-800-649-1242 (780-423-9233 in Edmonton) to get started today.
