Members Act on Senate Bill S-226

If passed, the Bill would amend the Criminal Code to make it illegal for provincial governments to operate video lottery terminals and slot machines anywhere other than casinos, race-courses and betting theatres.  Bill S-226 will have a crippling effect on our members. We encourage our members to tell Alberta senators what impact this Bill would have on their business.

The AHLA has drafted a letter that you can use to share your concerns about this Bill with any Senator.  Please personalize the letter and add any other information about how the elimination of VLTs would impact your property. Please fax a copy of your letter to the AHLA at (780) 436-5404.  If you prefer to send an email to each senator, please copy dkaiser@ahla.ca and info@hotelassociation.ca on your email.
